The mackerel have been awesome one week and dire the next, he water has been green and then clear again, it has been a strange season. The bottom fishing has been quite good and I was pumped to win the biggest dhuie for the year in the local fishing club.
It went 9.66kgs, made my day!
Paul & Raelene are continuing with the greatly discounted rates.
The new pot tipper is installed into Tokoloshe. It is an optional extra. If you want it you can hire it for an extra $25.00 per day. If not Paul will remove it.
All operating smoothly.
The new pot puller looks like it works!

Ritchie Kirk & the Rock Spiders
Ritchie Kirk and his band of merry retirees hire my boat every year and have done so for the past 15 years plus, so they are experienced. The fishing was a bit slow while they were here, but experience paid off with the group landing bottom fish as well as good mackerel.
They trolled a bit, put pots in, caught a few crays.
Caught a few mackerel. Robs mac went 17kgs.
I mate of mine came up while I was away and sent through the following pics. He told me he had a fantastic 3 days of mackerel action.
Sorry I missed you… we ended up leaving Perth Friday morning early (very early) and got here in time for a fish. We did what I believed was reasonably well with a macky of 17kg and another of 13kg.
Saturday and today was crazy! Saturday we got 6 all ranging from 10kg to 15kg before 10am. We caught and released 5 more and had a number of missed strikes. We also had at least two very big fish bust off by biting straight through the wire.
Today we again had 3 in the box before 8:30am and by 10am we ran into some really nice size fish. Three that we put in the box ranging from 15kg to 18kg. We again managed to release more 6 fish.
The 4 bigger fish after offering one to the team of volunteers that make sure we are looked after on the water and another fish to a neighbour where we were staying.

These pic are from late last month and this month
Over 1 kg bream from the river , big tailor and more bream made up some of the catches
The offshore guys got mulloway and dhuies. My dhuie was the biggest for the year at 9.66kgs
In pursuing my dreams, I saw a 39 foot Lagoon sailing catamaran for sail in Tahiti. It looked just the one I want so flew over there earlier this month and had a look. Well it turned out to be in good nick and at an affordable price so we bought it!
It’s the blue one in the marina.
We got it pulled out of the water and had a marine surveyor go over it. He was extremely thorough but could not find any faults!
We took it for a sea trial and overnighted at another island off Tahiti called Moorea Island. It was exceptionally pretty.
We had a snorkel over the reef inside the lagoon. Being volcanic islands it drops off to 1000m a couple of kilometres offshore so you get all this blue, blue crystal water flowing into the lagoon. Fish were very brightly coloured but the coral was not as good as on the Ningaloo Reef here.
Cruising over to the Moorea Island.
Hio is the skipper of the yacht and is looking after it while we get ourselves sorted out.
Semi deserted beaches, coconuts, fish, sunshine!
I made a short video of the trip and yacht:
